For three decades, Zimmer Biomet’s Valence facility in south-eastern France has been quietly transforming lives one medical device, one patient, one breakthrough at a time. Since opening in 1995, the site has produced more than 100 million devices, helping restore mobility, reduce pain and improve the quality of life for millions of patients.

This year, the Valence team celebrated a major milestone: 30 years of innovation, impact and purpose. The anniversary was marked by the inauguration of a new degassing building – a strategic expansion designed to boost production capacity and strengthen supply chain agility. Local dignitaries, including Nicolas Daragon, mayor of Valence, joined the event, underscoring the site’s vital role in the region and its global impact.
Valence holds a unique place in Zimmer Biomet’s global manufacturing network. It is the only facility worldwide that produces bone cement, a critical material used in orthopedic procedures. The facility manufactured over 2.3 million components annually serving healthcare providers and patients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
“For 30 years, our Valance team has embodied Zimmer Biomet’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and purpose. This site is more than a manufacturing facility, it’s a vital part of our global mission to alleviate pain and improve the quality of life for people around the world. Thank you to our team members for their deep dedication to the patients we serve.”
